In this session, members of the Food Technology design and editorial team discussed their approach to reimagining the Institute of Food Technologists’ 75-year-old flagship publication while staying true to its roots. The presentation focused on the rationale, the process, and the implementation — work that led to the magazine’s 2022 national gold Azbee Award win in the Publication Redesign category. Team members were candid about what worked best, what the pain points were, and what, in hindsight, they might have done differently.
Panelists: Mary Ellen Kuhn, Executive Editor, Food Technology Magazine, Institute of Food Technologists; Brian MacKenzie, Design and Production Manager, Publications, Institute of Food Technologists; and Bill McDowell, Editor-in-Chief and Vice President, Content Strategy, Institute of Food Technologists
