MJSA, a U.S. trade association representing professional jewelry makers and designers, seeks an Associate Editor to write and edit articles for a broad range of print and digital publications in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Responsibilities will include:
- Writing feature articles and columns for MJSA Journal, the association’s award-winning monthly magazine about the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in professional jewelry making and design.
- Assisting with content development, editing, and proofreading of all MJSA magazines, books, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Overseeing the monthly development and distribution of MJSA Up to Date, the association’s monthly e-newsletter.
- Assisting with the development and posting of content for the MJSA website and related digital publications.
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a professional writer/editor/journalist, preferably for a monthly magazine; a track record of meeting deadlines and tending to details; a healthy mix of curiosity and creativity; and the ability to enjoy a good laugh now and then. A background in jewelry manufacturing is not required, although a comfort with technical topics is helpful. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a high degree of initiative, a dedication to teamwork, and a devotion to editorial excellence.
Since its incorporation in 1903, MJSA has followed the same essential mission: to provide the information and support needed by jewelry makers, designers, and related suppliers to achieve professional excellence. Our 1,500+ member companies employ more than 50,000 skilled workers, and they are a diverse group. They range from high-volume manufacturers to artisans and custom jewelers; from single-person trade shops to global suppliers of tools and equipment. All, however, share a common goal: To run thriving businesses and to participate in a community dedicated to premier jewelry making and design. By joining and supporting MJSA, and by taking advantage of our publications, trade shows, and educational opportunities, they ensure they can do just that.
We offer a competitive salary, benefits and a casual business workplace.
