Want to make an impact on public media? Join Current’s editorial team as the lead reporter covering funding and innovation in nonprofit, public service media. You’ll interview decision makers and creative professionals developing new models for fundraising and audience service; you’ll also follow legislative and policy issues affecting public media in Washington and elsewhere.
Requires:
Curiosity, humor, commitment to ethics and excellence, strong writing, research and reporting skills; track record in both breaking news and in-depth, analytical reporting; experience with social media and digital publishing (including comfort with photography and web-based journalism tools), keen eye for detail. Ability to travel to and report from at least two conferences per year.
Preferred:
Interest in public radio and TV content, business strategies and technology; data journalism and multimedia production experience; self-starter with social skills necessary to cultivate new sources. Qualified applicants have a bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years experience as a journalist.
