Editorial Assistant – Cambridge Educational Services

We are currently seeking an Editorial Assistant for areas including math, science, reading, and English. The role requires general editing skills, strongly prefers individuals with educational publishing experience, and can be fulfilled as a full time, part time, or internship position.

Required Responsibilities

  • Edit documents (texts, workbooks, promotional materials, letters) for content errors, mechanical errors, and typographical errors, as well as consistent and appropriate language
  • Provide strong and consistent editorial voice for each product and product line
  • Demonstrate excellent editorial work in all integration and revision assignments
  • Assist with project management and production process as needed
  • Coordinate and communicate with freelancers and expert content reviewers
  • Compose well-written book sections, letters, documents, and creative copy
  • Perform routine tasks such as filing and photocopying
  • Have familiarity with basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook and above-average knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Education and Experience

  • This position requires a minimum of a 4-year undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in English, Writing, Math, or Science
  • Prior publishing experience is a plus
  • Background in educational publishing market is a plus
  • High standardized test scores and high GPA preferred

Compensation

  • Base salary commensurate with experience
