Isabelle Gustafson, the senior editor of WTWH Media’s Club + Resort Chef, is the recipient of the 2023 Young Leader Scholarship, sponsored by the ASBPE Educational Foundation.
As a YLS recipient, she will receive free registration to the ASBPE national conference May 11-12, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a complimentary two-night stay at the conference hotel. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicants must be 30 years old or younger, have spent at least two years in B2B media, and plan to continue in it as a career.
Gustafson earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and magazine editing from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She also studied abroad in Pamplona, Spain, and worked as an English language instructor at the Lucete Academy in Seoul, South Korea. Before joining her current magazine, she served as the associate editor for CStore Decisions, another WTWH Media publication based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Joanna DeChellis, editor of Club + Resort Chef, describes Gustafson as a shining light with both editorial strengths and leadership skills.
“She is a strong writer with a brilliant sense of grammar and style,” DeChellis said in her nomination letter. “She is technologically dexterous and able to move through our various platforms — web, email, social, podcasting, video, in-person, virtual, and more — fluidly. She has spent most of her editorial career in B2B publishing and understands the special nature of our audience and how we best serve them, which makes her especially well-suited for this incredible opportunity.”
Amy Fischbach, immediate past president of the ASBPE Educational Foundation, says she is proud to welcome Gustafson into the elite group of YLS winners.
“The Young Leader Scholarship program will give her the opportunity to network with peers and learn new skills in B2B media,” Fischbach said. “We are honored to present the Young Leader Scholarship to a recipient with such a bright future.”
