The American Society of Business Publication Editors is seeking dynamic speakers to contribute their presentation ideas for ASBPE’s 2023 National Conference, May 11-12 in Atlanta.

Our conference is designed to deliver what our members – B2B writers, editors, designers and freelancers – need to advance their careers, whether they’re part of a large team or on their own. This year’s conference theme is “Heroes of B2B Media.” We aim to highlight a broad range of industries and issues through the lens of groundbreaking storytelling, reporting and publication design. We’ll spotlight champions of diversity; success in managing change, audience growth, and new product/publication launches; and publications who’ve pivoted to provide their readership/membership vital information and thought-provoking stories.

So, do you know of any journalistic heroes or herculean efforts from B2B or trade media? Share your presentation and/or discussion panel topic ideas by Jan. 30, 2023. A few tips to keep in mind:

• Be specific: What have you or your team done that has resulted in success in any facet of B2B publishing? Great speakers in past years have shared information on topics like podcasting, managing relationships with sales, social media, government reporting and more.

• Think outside the box: Success in our field means not only having technical skills, but also expertise in related skills like leadership, talent acquisition and retention, DE&I issues, public speaking and networking. Consider submitting a topic idea on one of these themes and remember to tie it back to how it relates to your job in B2B.

• Designers and freelancers: Graphic designers and freelance editors, writers and designers make up a big part of ASBPE’s membership. If you fall into one of these segments, now’s the time to showcase your expertise with a topic that pertains to and benefits your peers.

• What skills would you like to cultivate? Think about specific skills that you wish you knew more about and submit them as topic ideas for the conference. If you know a great B2B subject-matter expert to speak on that topic, include that too.

We offer complimentary registration to our conference speakers and discounted entry into our National Azbee Awards Banquet for speakers who’d like to attend the evening event. During the conference, you’ll be welcome to attend any of the sessions and will have ample opportunity to network with other speakers and attendees.

Submit your ideas through our contact form by Jan. 30, 2023 to be considered. Special consideration will be given to subject-matter experts presenting themselves as speakers, but all panel/presentation ideas are welcome.
