To be eligible, applicants must be 30 years old or younger as of Feb. 17, 2023, have spent at least two years in B2B media and plan to continue in it as a career. The program is open to a wide spectrum of B2B media professionals including writers, editors and designers for print and/or online B2B media sites or publications.
The recipients each receive a complimentary two-night stay at the conference hotel and free registration to the ASBPE national conference and awards banquet. The cost of flights, ground transportation and non-conference meals are the responsibility of the recipient.
To be considered for the 2023 YLS program, applicants must complete an online application, which includes two essay questions. They must also be nominated by their supervisor and submit examples of their work, a headshot and a short bio.
Amy Fischbach, immediate past president of the ASBPE Educational Foundation and former YLS recipient, says the program is a wonderful way to support the continuing education of young B2B journalists.
“When I first started out in the B2B media industry, I had the opportunity to travel to Chicago to attend my first ASBPE national conference,” she says. “From that point on, I have been very involved with ASBPE, which has been very enriching for my career in B2B media. I have been able to network with journalists nationwide, discover best practices and learn new skills.”
