The American Society of Business Publication Editors is honored to introduce the first-ever recipients of the ASBPE Diversity Fellowship.

New this year, the program’s aim is to aid in developing a more diverse corps of journalists and leaders within the community of business-to-business (B2B) specialty publications and to enhance overall awareness of career opportunities in the sector.

The following four individuals were chosen for ASBPE’s inaugural Diversity Fellowship program for 2021-2022:

Chris Gaetano: Since 2009, Chris has served as a staff writer and blogger with Trusted Professional, a publication of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Ruksana Hussain: With 19 years of experience in writing and editing, Ruksana is currently a freelancer specializing in lifestyle features and long-form narrative stories. She is also the editor of Diversity Professional magazine.

Asia Martin: Formerly a reporter at Financial Advisor magazine and Forbes Media, Asia is now a staff writer at Wealth Management (Informa).

Davina Van Buren: Sole proprietor at DvB Media Inc., Davina is a freelance B2B writer and editor specializing in hospitality, travel, food and agriculture coverage.

The ASBPE Diversity Fellowship covers 12 months of the association’s online B2B-oriented training and webinars, as well as a personalized mentoring program and other professional development and networking opportunities.

Preparations for the 2022-2023 program will commence soon. If you are interested in more information about the fellowship program, or you would like to serve as a mentor, host an event for our fellows or involve our program in your recruitment or inclusion efforts, please send us a note to the Diversity Committee through our contact form.
