Sharon Machlis is online managing editor at Computerworld, where she both writes about and uses data tools. She’s worked on data projects such as finding out that the top users of skilled-worker visas are overseas outsourcers, as well as coding internal tools reporters and editors. She has done data work in in PHP, Ruby, jQuery, Google Fusion Tables, Tableau Public Caspio Bridge and R, and has presented on data tools at the national Investigative Reporters and Editors’ Computer Assisted Reporting conference.
