The American Academy of Pediatrics seeks a polished professional with an entrepreneurial spirit to develop and manage sales strategies for AAP’s professional and consumer content. This individual should be accustomed to cold-calling to meet and exceed revenue goals for our licensing and bulk sales of digital and print content.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Institutional Sales and Licensing, this position will identify opportunities for new business and expand licensing efforts of all assigned product lines with healthcare IT (EHR) companies, government and social service agencies, retail drug chains, and other channels of distribution. Main responsibilities include market segmentation evaluation, value proposition development, product positioning, and pricing, branding, channel, and communications strategies. In addition, assist senior manager in establishing and monitoring complex pricing structures based on market intelligence is a crucial job function.
Candidates should be highly self-motivated and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude for this sales role. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field, and at least 5 years of experience in content licensing and intellectual property management required (including selling and negotiating licensing agreements, analyzing market opportunities, developing strategic growth plans, developing proposals for complex business models, and developing and managing budgets). Experience with sales software (i.e. Salesforce) strongly preferred; must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and handle a heavy workload. Some domestic and international travel and weekend work may be required.
