ITG Investment Research is currently seeking a junior editor in their Calgary office to co-ordinate the publication of an energy focused daily note to be sent to our large and varied client base. We are looking for someone with at least two years working in a business journalism environment. Ideally a candidate will be a journalist with a business background and have a working familiarity with oil and gas terminology and fundamentals. In this role you will have the opportunity to utilize multiple skills while learning and growing along the way.

General Responsibilities:

• Identify key energy noteworthy news everyday
• Work with analysts to frame a bullet point on that news and its implication for the stock
• Work with analysts to organize the content of the note
• Use publishing software to prepare the publication
• Manage the energy note through the regulatory compliance process

To be successful in this role, you will need exceptional knowledge of the ins and outs of scrubbing various information sources. You must have the ability to drive a deadline and meet it every day. You will assume sole responsibility for our daily note. We expect that you are extremely well organized. Your innate ability to get things done even when faced with unexpected barriers and tight deadlines are critical for long term success in the role. Experience with Bloomberg terminal a must, familiar with the use of social media (Twitter) to both follow breaking news and disseminate information and a strong user of MS Office Suite. Applicants who can demonstrate understanding of oil and gas fundamentals will be given preference.
