The ASBPE Educational Foundation is proud to present the Young Leader Scholarship for 2022 to Courtney Bublé, staff correspondent for the Government Executive in Washington, D.C.
The Young Leader Scholarship program, funded by the ASBPE Educational Foundation, honors up-and-coming leaders in the B2B media industry. Applicants must be 30 years old or younger, have spent at least two years in the B2B media industry and be nominated by their supervisor. Recipients receive free conference registration and a two-night stay at the conference hotel.
“The program honors rising stars in B2B media like Courtney and gives them the opportunity to network with peers and learn new skills that will help them to advance in their careers,” says Amy Fischbach, president of the ASBPE Educational Foundation.
Bublé attended The George Washington University from 2014 to 2018 where she studied political science, journalism and women’s studies. She interned at NBC’s “Meet the Press” her final semester and then worked for NBC News for about a year after graduation. Bublé joined Government Executive as a reporter in July 2019. She covers federal management, oversight, contracting and regulations. She is also a frequent guest on “GovExec Daily,” her publication’s daily podcast, as well as moderator of events that feature senior government officials.
In her nomination letter, Katherine McIntire Peters, former deputy editor for Government Executive Media Group, described Bublé as an early-career journalist in B2B with a remarkable work ethic and high level of integrity.
“Courtney is one of the most industrious young journalists we’ve worked with,” she stated in her letter. “She covers a range of issues with tenacity and frequently takes on some of our most difficult assignments. In her short time at Government Executive, she’s developed an impressive rolodex of high-level sources she can call on for breaking news.”
