Dec. 2, 2003 — American Society of Business Publication Editors chapters in three cities — Boston, Cleveland, and Washington, D.C. — will see new leadership this year.
Boston/New England Chapter
Ben Ames is senior editor at Military and Aerospace Electronics, a monthly trade magazine at PennWell Publishing in Nashua, N.H. Prior to that, he was senior editor at Design News, a biweekly technology magazine at Reed Business Information (formerly Cahners).
Ames has also worked as a newspaper reporter for dailies in Quincy, Mass., and Pottsville, Pa., And in 2002, Falcon Press published his first book, a guide to hiking trails in Massachusetts.

Cleveland Chapter
Kristen Hampshire is editor of Commercial Dealer and Lawn Care Professional for GIE Media in Cleveland. She was one of ASBPE’s 2003 Young Leaders Scholarship winners.
Previously, Hampshire was managing editor of Commercial Dealer and Lawn Care Professional. She began employment at GIE in July 2000 writing for Lawn & Landscape magazine and still contributes to the publication.
Hampshire graduated from the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in 2000 with a B.S.J. in magazine editing with specializations in English and French.

Washington, D.C., Chapter
Steven Roll is editor of The State Tax Report, published by Tax Management Inc., a subsidiary of the Bureau of National Affairs, Washington, D.C. In 2003, Roll was a finalist for BNA’s Editorial Excellence Award. He has also written for other business publications, including Business Week Online.
Roll earned a law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Albany. In addition to his editing and writing responsibilities, Roll is an instructor at Strayer University.
