Putman Media has an opportunity for a Managing Editor. We are a privately held B2B media firm with 70 years of experience serving the manufacturing communities. Responsibilities for this position include:
- managing an integrated editorial and production workflow for a magazine and its associated web-based assets;
- copy-editing and style adherence,
- gathering and reporting industry news,
- some feature and column writing,
- web posting/blogging.
The right candidate has a journalism degree and five+ yrs experience in business-to-business communications, working knowledge of web standards and SEO analytical tools including content mgmt systems; experience with how social media and trade media interact; excellent interpersonal communications, ability to work and influence others effectively across organizational layers and the advertising community, possess a professional sense of urgency and a profound respect for the interests and needs of the readers, and be at ease with constant direct contact with the brand’s audience. Familiarity with industrial manufacturing is a plus; familiarity with industrial automation a big plus. Some travel to industry events.
