The ASBPE Community Fellowship provides opportunities to develop leaders within the B2B media community, encourages service-minded individuals, promotes a sense of belonging and inclusivity representative of the wider journalism profession, empowers B2B media professionals to advance their career through education and networking, and enhances overall awareness of career opportunities in B2B media. Fellowship recipients receive complimentary ASBPE membership offering free access to webinars, workshops and networking opportunities for one year, free registration to ASBPEvolve: The Biggest B2B Editorial Summit, a stipend for conference travel costs when applicable, and a one-year mentorship to further develop the fellow’s career.
The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) is built on the principle of service: All of ASBPE’s programming is created for B2B media professionals through members’ volunteer efforts. Accordingly, the Fellowship is open to current B2B media professionals, academia and students who demonstrate a commitment to the B2B media community through service. There are many ways to serve the B2B media community, and ASBPE will recognize up to two fellows per year. Examples include but are not limited to: mentoring students or current professionals, developing educational programs, student leadership, promoting inclusivity, hosting networking programs, supporting fellow journalists, and other ways of advancing the interests of professionals in our community.
ASBPE will select applicants who have served or helped to create a sense of community within B2B media through any outlet and who can benefit most from the Fellowships’ offerings. Applicants should have experience in — or a demonstrated interest in — B2B media. Willingness to volunteer with ASBPE will also be taken under consideration. Current membership in ASBPE is not required.
Apply for the ASBPE Community Fellowship
Applicants will be evaluated fairly and without undue favor, reviewing application characteristics of personal experience, service, need and potential contribution to ASBPE to assess applicants’ holistic suitability for the Fellowship.
Applicants must complete the application form, provide a recommendation or reference letter, and submit a letter of interest — or video application — that explains:
- their service to the B2B media industry
- challenges they’ve overcome to become a B2B journalist
- any events or situations that might otherwise prevent them from attending ASBPEvolve (such as finances or access)
- how attending would enhance their career
Applicants may also submit their resume, bio, clips documenting their work and/or service in B2B media, and indicate interest in volunteering with ASBPE.
